TWICE AS NICE: BASKETBALL STANDOUT EARNS STATE AND NATIONAL RECOGNITION
Sophomore forward Walter Campbell picked up dual honors following the start of the Roane State Raiders' 2024-2025 basketball season.
Campbell was named Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the TCCAA as well as the NJCAA after coming out of the gate with consecutive double-doubles against Georgia Highlands and East Georgia State.
Campbell averaged 23.5 points and 12 rebounds in those matchups, shooting over 65% from the line and an even 50% from the field, with seven assists.
"Earning this recognition during the first week of the regular season is an incredible achievement," said David Lane, Roane State's director of athletics. "This team is already showing us what they're capable of, and we can't wait to see where this season will take us."
The Raiders are currently fourth in conference standings with an overall record of 4-1. Up next, the team will take on Walters State Community College at home on November 13. Tipoff is set for 7:30pm ET in the gym on the Roane County Campus.
