ROANE STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL SHINES ON AND OFF THE COURT
The Roane State men's basketball team is preparing for its fall season following a successful 2023-2024 run marked by both on-court achievement and academic excellence.
Sophomore Guard Samuele Bovo was recently recognized as a Diamond Team member, an honor reserved for the top players in the conference.
"Samuele is a phenomenal athlete and has been a cornerstone of our program," Head Coach Alan Holt said. "His talent and leadership were instrumental to our success."
Off the court, the Raiders also excelled academically. Players Ryan Seagrave and Walter Campbell were honored with the L. Quentin Lane Award for Academic Achievement, recognizing their dedication to basketball and their studies in the classroom.
"These young men are not only outstanding athletes, but also exceptional students," Holt said. "Their commitment to their education is a testament to the high caliber of student-athletes we have at Roane State."
"This entire team has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to excellence," added David Lane, RSCC's director of athletics. "Their collective efforts resulted in a season to remember. We look forward to this fall as our returning athletes and new recruits are ready to compete."
The Raiders will hit the court for their first game of the Fall 2024 season on October 10 against Bryan College. Time and venue for the matchup will be announced soon.
