CAMPBELL HITS 1,000 POINTS AND EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK (AGAIN)
Another standout student-athlete at Roane State earned TCCAA Player of The Week honors on Tuesday, and it is not his first time in the spotlight.
Sophomore Walter Campbell was selected as the TCCAA Region 7 Men's Basketball Player of the Week – his second time this season. Campbell averaged 22.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 4 assists in a three-game span where the Raiders picked up two wins.
Campbell also passed the 1,000 career point mark during the recent matchup with Jackson State, making him just the third Roane State Raider to ever hit the milestone.
The Raiders won that game in overtime with a final score of 90-80. Campbell put up the second highest point total with 22.
In the fall, Cambell received national recognition along with his state-level POTW status when he was named the NJCAA's Men's Basketball Player of the Week. He also earned a spot on the Fall 2024 Dean's List.
The Raiders squad is 17-8 on the season. The next to last regular season matchup is against Chattanooga State on Wednesday night (February 26) in Harriman. Tipoff is set for 7:30pm ET.
