ROANE STATE VOLLEYBALL: DIAMONDS ON THE COURT, SCHOLARS IN THE CLASSROOM
The Roane State women's volleyball team is ready for what is poised to be another record-setting fall. The Lady Raiders not only excelled on the court last year, but they also demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.
This summer, the TCCAA announced that Blair Dukes had been named a recipient of the prestigious Diamond Team Award for earning a 4.0 GPA during the 2023-2024 academic year. Dukes is returning to Roane State and the Lady Raiders Volleyball team this fall for her sophomore year.
Solene Roussell, Frida Hoellger, and Eve Alford were each recognized for their exceptional talent by being named to the NJCAA Second Team. Haley Jenkins and Summer Trew have also been selected for the NJCAA Third Team.
In addition to their skills on the volleyball court, Madi Neeley, Alee Hyatt, and Hannah Logsdon were honored for their commitment to academic excellence with the L. Quentin Lane Award for Academic Achievement.
"The passion demonstrated by every member of this volleyball team is second to none and I am blessed to be their coach," said Steve Dallman, Roane State's head volleyball coach. "It is a special moment to see so many of these student-athletes recognized for the work they put in all year long. There's no limit to what they can achieve."
The Lady Raiders volleyball team will begin their fall season at home on August 22, 2024, with a match against Wallace State Community College – Hanceville. Full details are posted on the team's schedule page.
