LADY RAIDERS VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-1 TO WALLACE STATE
The Lady Raiders Volleyball team faced off against Wallace State Community College in its first match of the fall season on August 22 but fell short of a victory after four sets.
In the first set, the Roane State battled back and forth for the lead, but errors kept the Lady Raiders from the win with a final score of 22-25.
Roane State bounced back in the second set with a strong performance, just edging out a 26-24 win, but later fell short once again in the third set with a score of 20-25.
Wallace State clinched the match with a 25-23 win in the fourth set, resulting in a 3-1 match victory (22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 35-23).
"All four sets were highly competitive, and the fight was tough," said Mackenzie Shirley, RSCC's assistant volleyball coach. "Despite the loss, our players demonstrated a high level of skill and a tenacity that will bring them success this season."
Hannah Harnichar led the Lady Raiders with 12 kills, while Solene Rousel added 8. Jaylyn Bullock topped the match in digs with 22, and Haley Ledford led Roane State with 36 assists.
The next match for Lady Raiders Volleyball will be the E2 Sports Raider Classic on Friday, August 23, 2024.
