ROANE STATE VOLLEYBALL HOSTS E2 SPORTS RAIDER CLASSIC TOURNAMENT
Roane State Volleyball showcased their skills this past weekend as they hosted the E2 Sports Raider Classic Tournament. The Lady Raiders secured wins in three out of four fiercely competitive games.
The team came out on top in matches with Bevill State, Southern Union, and Southwest Virginia, a great comeback to continue the season following an opening match loss against Wallace State on August 22.
"Despite the setback last week, these ladies never gave up and were determined to come out stronger for the rest of the tournament," said Mackenzie Shirley, RSCC's assistant volleyball coach. "Each match was a testament to their skill and determination as they battled hard against formidable opponents."
Lady Raiders Head Coach Steve Dallman added that the team's impressive performance highlighted not only their tactical acumen, but also underscored their resilience and team spirit, making the tournament a memorable display of athletic excellence.
The two All-Tournament players for Roane State were setter Haley Ledford and right side attacker Solene Rousel, both team captains.
"With their impressive performance this weekend, the future looks exceptionally bright for the Lady Raiders," Shirley said.
Up next, Roane State Volleyball will take on Maryville College in a scrimmage at Tennessee Wesleyan scheduled for 5pm ET on August 27, 2024. The team then heads to Florida for the Pensacola State Invitational starting August 30, 2024.
